Fishing with friends

Today's plan to fish again for Ahi. Joined my friends Puna and Ernie on board the Kai Moana.
We launched by 8 am and in 1 hour we get the screamer. By 930 am we had the fish on the side of the boat.
By noon we were coming in! What an awesome day fishing with friends.
Doo doo boy lures working good!
122 lbs g/g.

Good going on the tuna Kyle! We got blessed with one outside makaha on Saturday. Launched 515am and got the strike around 1230pm. Ours weighed 123.8lbs gutted and gilled and it chomped a 9" purple bullet Gaji lure! Check the video out.

Good Job Jon! you got da fever now?

Unknown said...

Unfortunately yes... I never had this type of fever before. I never found myself waking up at 3am prior to catching an ahi. We went this past saturday and whitewashed. We trolled from 545-130 outside nanakuli up toward kaena on the 1000 and no strikes. We went yesterday evening outside HK for onos and got whitewashed again... Fishing is not catching! God is good whether we catch fish or not, we still praise Him!

As it was my first I had to chomp the beating heart... we got that on video too. Also, I got some photos from my surf trip with Bruce to El Salvador.

That’s a huge catch! You are truly an expert on angling and I'm really amazed at how you caught a very huge tuna easily! I've seen your other posts too, and I'm really impressed at how capable you are in catching fishes – be it big or small. Thanks for always sharing your ocean adventures, Kyle!
