2018 Resolutions

Still some fun surf up north this morning then back home for our traditional mochi pounding.  My resolution is not to look back, so looking forward to 2018.

Another resolution is to try new things so invested in this star wars reel that supposedly can bring up some deep water fish.  Hopefully we will get to land a onaga in 2018.  Wishing you all a Happy New Year and thank you for all your support and reading our blogs.

Exercise and Live

Two old Crows dropped off some Akule to Uncle Joe.  He was happy to restock his refrigerator for the rest of the week.

Wishing Jo Todoroki another year of good health and happiness in 2018.  His secret to life is to exercise! Exercise your mind, body and soul by doing what you love to do.  Your work, your chores, your hobbies is all ways to exercise.

Santa Surprise

New north swell with north winds today.  A few good spots work with these conditions.  Headed out for a few waves and exercise with some overhead waves today then headed home to see if Santa came early?

Shucks, I missed him at the door but he left a pair of stabilizer binoculars on my steps!  Now we can see birds for 5 miles away and rubbish at 10!  Looking forward to eating more sashimi for the holidays!

Bye Bambi

Winds died but waves still bumpy up on the north shore with some overhead waves.  Looking like the Pipe Masters will be the Ehukai or Gums Masters this year with small surf.  Grabbed a couple and headed back for a funeral service.

Our pet mouse, Bambi passed away last night.  She was a great mother and took care of her babies till the end.  Bye bye Bambi!

Winch Ready!

What to do on a windy wild day?  First go surf and get some exercise then gear up for the big one!  Got us a winch to hoist that 1 ton ahi or marlin into the Red Sea boat!  Saw McGuyver James Oshiro using this small piece of equipment to pull some big printing machines into his truck successfully so I thought same principle?

Buoy Surfing

Morning sunrise with light winds for a few days and big waves!

Paddled out to the Ubuoy and got some solid waves.  Yes I found Ubuoy floating near the waves.

Pulled out the big board and grabbed a few fun waves with the eastside boys.  Paddled by in and notified the buoy master to let him know where it is.  Hope it gets back to its original position soon.

Pupu Hour

Pupu Hour starts now!  Blessings from the sea with some fresh sashimi.

Apple Watch 3

Finally got my apple watch series 3.  Pretty cool to receive calls, text, etc out in the ocean.  It even monitors your health, counting the calories I burn, movement and hours I exercise and stand.  Been having fun with it just hope I don't lose it!   Surf's been pumping up north with challenging double to triple overhead conditions, go get some but be safe!

Christmas Seafood Shopping

Winds finally backed off enough for us to go shopping for dinner.  Al and Cat joined me on board the Red Sea boat so we headed straight for the seafood department.

Still had some waves in the channel so we timed the sets.

Al put on his lucky cap and started searching.  We looked high and low but the fresh fish was no where to be found.  We thought the store was closed for Christmas?

But during the last hour of shopping we made contact and were blessed with some tuna and mahi.  We found the bird pile and took a triple strike in the bottom of the ninth inning bringing it all home!  Stoked!

Just in time for the holidays!  Mahalos to my Red Sea crew on board and at the dock for helping us put dinner on the table.

TLC

Some tender loving care for the twins.  Mahalos to my mechanic Jason and dad for helping out tuning and servicing our motors.  Only a boat owner knows what really goes on behind the scenes on the time, money and effort involved in keeping a boat in order.  I'm very thankful for my  family and friends who always are help out.
