Dawn to Dusk

More summertime fun with my Red Sea Crew, Al and Brent bringing home some bacon.  Mahis, Otarus and more action from dawn to dusk.  Good fun, good times, good friends!

On Top of the World

My nephews had a summer bucket list to do before they went back to school.   One of the items was to climb chinaman's hat or Mokoli'i island.  Its a great feeling to be on top of the world!

We paddled our surfboard across the bay and made it to the very top.  We put our faith in a single rope, holding on tight to make it to the top.

It seemed closer than it looked.  The wind, waves and current made things more difficult.

But now they can say they did it!  Not many people have done this before and it was a great accomplishment with many life lessons learned.  I hope these two teenagers remember those lessons we learned as they try and make it to the top of their world.

Gone Fishin

Winds been little breezy lately, perfect for some rough water fishing.  So we loaded up the Red Sea boat, went hunting and got a few fish for dinner.  Stoked on the otarus and nice mahis.

Time to cut this girl up and make some sashimi.

Neighborhood Block Party

Well all that fish we got went to good use.  We made some pupus for the party.

55 years of living in our neighborhood together makes for a great celebration.

All our neighbors got together and we had fun eating and playing games.

Kai growing up fast and lead our way by giving thanks!

Headed out to the Seafood market for our upcoming block party.  Even Sponge Bob joined us to soak up some salt spray.

Got a few pieces for the party so everyone is happy.  Mahalo to my Red Sea Crew for all their help fishing, cutting and cleaning.

Mister Sister?

How's this quiver?  Good thing I came in before he went out, ha ha!  Actually Blue Hawaii had a SUP demo at the park.  There were about 50 boards to try out.

Great summer swell indeed.  Sunday was the peak but still had a few close out sets today.  Tomorrow smaller.  Maybe gotta look for alternate activity?

Does this person look familiar?  Well Toda-san took this picture and sent it to me.  My other sister Kylie?  Ha ha!

Surf Train

Went to our friends house for a meeting and he had a great workout room.  My nephews would be fired up to train here.

Surf was fun today with a few bombs and no crowd.  Where is everyone?

No Crowd

Out of season north swell was firing!  We couldn't believe only 4 of us out with some perfect overhead waves barreling through.  Probably the best summer surf so far this year.  Always appreciate the view on the way back home from a good surf.  Have a great weekend!  Avoid the crowd!

Summer Surf

Nice Summer so far with waves all week and more to come!  Swell peaked on Sunday and looks to drop off the next few days.  Hope you been getting some barrels!

Did you watch the new Spider man movie?  Not me but my Spider senses telling me we need to get out on the Red Sea boat soon, lol

Dinner with friends

Had a nice dinner with our friends from Japan at the Red Sea House.  Always great to catch up with Toda, Takami, Kirby and Hikaru.

They enjoyed the grinds!

Our host Crowline even had a special message to share with the group.

Thanks everyone for a great time and safe travels back to Japan!

Great 4th of July week!  We went out for a quick run and found a couple fish for dinner.

Then took Maika, Brandon and keith diving.  Got some fry fish.

Boys cleaned their catch too.  Good to learn how.

And we eat what we catch.

Lucky Boat

This tour boat tried to come in the alawai bowls channel the other day and almost flipped over. The south swell peaked in the afternoon and timing the waves were key. Good thing the Captain was able to make it in safely.  Lucky no one got hurt.

Red Sea crew getting ready for our next shopping day.  Some people count the seconds their lines go out to figure out where to place their lure, but we mark our lines so we know exactly where they are at a given time.

Until then enjoy the ocean!  Surfs up in town!  Swell dropping but theres a few to be had.  Have a happy 4th of July!
