Grandpa Mike

Meet Grandpa Mike, he's almost 70 years old and still surfing the north shore.  I hope I'll be still surfing at his age and pulling in.  It's always a pleasure to see him and his 11 year old grandson out and encouraging each other to go!

Saw this house falling down on the way back home.  Time to rebuild.

My bags are packed and ready to roll.  Been a lot of talk about Corona Virus and everyone is afraid to travel.  Stocks are down and virus is up all over the world.  Olympic committees are sharpening their pencils in hopes of going forward.  Will it get better or worse?  Probably worse.  Where and when should we go?  Only God knows. 

Chef Kai

15 year old Chef Kai made his first set of poke bowls.  Anybody hiring a chef?  It's great to see Kai growing up to be a kind, gentleman with a a lot of dreams to fulfill.  

Nothing goes to waste in our house so all the fish scraps go to the dry net for our pupu hours.  Windy week ahead  with a few more northwest swells to wrap up the north shore surf season.  

Where's the meat?

Been craving some fresh fish so went out for a quick run and got some red meat for the week.  We had a big hit and line snapped 600 yds out.  That would have been red meat for a month?

But we are always thankful to catch something for our table and family and friends.

Then did some filming with Merlinda Garma and Puna Apio for our next HSDTV episode coming March 3rd.  Lotsa good comments on recents shows from viewers.  Thank you for watching everyone!

Work & Play

Working on another HSDTV episode with Puna Apio!  We are heading to the dark side doing an episode I always wanted to do.  Mahalo to Puna and the crew for all their support!  Stay tuned for this amazing show on March 10th, Tues. 7:30 pm.

Got the call from Da Satos for another surf session. This time my goal was to get Austyn up and riding.  This 5 year old girl is the cutest girl.  She saw her sister Kinsey surf last time so this was her day!

We did a couple warm ups then up she went!  Goofy foot girl was confirmed.

My other nephew Maika was also in the line up and having fun running his brother over, ha ha!

Meet Miss Piggy

Meet little miss piggy!  This baby is only 12 inches long and super cute.  They are available at Koolau pets in the windward mall now for only $1599.

Trying out my new Sat phone.  Any born after 2000 has no clue on what this is.

Amazing Day!

Water temps were freezing but sun came out so Da_Sato girls wanted to join us for a surf.

Kai is a determined teenager who also wanted to go surf, so off we went.  He wanted to try out this board he got from my cousin Greg and it worked great!

I was with Kinsey, Kai and Cat, and Dana and Austyn.  

Kinsey is a natural and she got up first try!  Look at her style! 

Not every day is nice sunny no wind.  Some days are rough, windy, and cold.  Those are the days that make you strong and able to survive!  The joy of surfing and staying healthy in life is key.  I'm so glad I got to be able to participate in this amazing day!

Ocean to Table

Stars lined up so we headed out for a quick market run and got lucky with these fish.  Conditions were perfect and fish was hungry!

From the ocean to the table.  Great to start the 2020 campaign early.

Thankful for fresh fish for our family and friends to enjoy!

Looks like the stars may be lining up for a day of fishing!  Picies saying go fish?
