Superbowl Sash
Woke up early for some seafood shopping for Super Bowl Sunday. Shibi and Aku was on our target list so put out our Gaji lures early and kept busy all day chasing the fish.
We managed to find a few for our family and friends! It's been fun learning how to catch various types of fish (i.e.: akule, bottom fish, pelagics). Still got lots to learn but thankful to those who are willing to share their knowledge with us rookies. Mahalos to Cat, Al and 2 old crows for their awesome job!

Light winds so loaded up the Red Sea boat and crew and headed out shopping for dinner. Jon, Al and Cat joined me for a early bird run.
Saw some big tails but was looking for some bottom fish on this trip.
Got our dinner and some bonus pupus for the weekend!
Another awesome day in paradise. We are so fortunate to call Hawaii our home!

Full Circle
Uncle Walter Takimoto 88 years young joined us on our akule adventure. He heard his partner Jo was coming and this would be full circle as they shared lots of good times fishing together.
Akule Jo now 102 years young still loves to fish. Home made lures and rain or shine he is game to go.
Even got a few big bonus Otarus for our pupu hour and ice cold beers.
One of the best sashimi available. Thanks to the Red Sea Crew for making it all happen.

Windy Weather
Rubbish day in our neighborhood today. Saw 3 rubbish trucks picking up trash? Kinda odd to have 3 trucks? Maybe they going dive after work?
So I check the weather and see the reason for this windy weather. 1037 millibar high pressure as the source of this wind. It should slowly move northeast and allow the winds to lighten through the weekend and next week. Another moderate northwest swell to fill in on Monday and Tuesday.
Rendering sure takes awhile….Working on another Hawaii Skin Diver episode now because once the wind dies down you know where I'll be?

2018 Fireworks!
Mahalos to Keith Yamane for loading us up with the fireworks!
This year my nephew Maika stepped up to the plate and took the lighter to the fuse in front of the Red Sea house.
Like an aku or ahi bite, the fast fuse took off and the fireworks blew up! Looking forward to 2018. Happy New Year everyone!
