Sidney goes fishing

Water was looking nice so we loaded up the Red Sea boat and headed out for some action.  Morning bait was biting good.

Once the sun came up we headed out for the troll on the town.  Cat, Sidney and Brent joined me today.  This was Sidneys first time trolling so she was excited.

This is how we roll.  We focus and look for the bird piles.

Then the screamer.  Huge marlin on for an hour before shaking the hook.  

We got some action and a few fish for our table this week.

Surf & Shoot

Morning North shore surf the afternoon HSDTV shoot out east.  This was the only place on the island that wasn't raining.

Swell Coming Soon!

Buoys still were small this morning so we knew swell would be later this evening.  Found a nice spot to surf and got a few fun waves.

Jon Taba wanted to eat so he treated us to brunch.

Swell should arrive this evening and peak at 2 am. Sat.  Going to be solid!

The Legend

Beautiful sunrise shot this morning on the eastside.  Surf dropped up north so stayed on the east to grab a few waves.

Legendary Jon Taba, Waimea bay hard core charger! Iron man competitor, solo night diver and big wave rider….Always good to paddle out with Jon.

Surf Quiver

Big Wednesday up north so we had to make sure we had our basis covered.  Tokoro boards ranging from 5'7 to 7'6 in the house.  Scored some fun ones with the boys at the bay.  Another bigger swell coming Friday!

Aloha Tuesday

Happy Aloha Tuesday everyone!  New NNW swell at 8 ft with northwest winds today.  A few spots are good if you know where to look!  Mahalo Wade and Reo for the session.  My board has the least stickers, Wades has most wax on the bottom and Reo has most sponsors.  Ha ha!

TGIM

Surf came up as predicted so woke up early to get the worm.  5 guys out! Thank God for Mondays!  Rain and Northwinds coming soon!

Mahi Sunday!

We headed out to look for dinner today and found this yellow guy!  Always thankful to be able to catch dinner for my family.  Surf's pumping tomorrow so gotta get to sleep…zzzz..

Sessions

Evening voice over session with Jon Kam and Denver Kaaua for future HSDTV show.  Thanks guys for all your support.  Woke up early and headed north for a morning session to grab a few fun ones with the boys!  Surf dropping tomorrow but coming right back up!  Can't wait!

North Shore Up!

Went North this morning with Wade and got some solid ones at the point.  Felt like a salmon swimming up stream riding my 5'10" but good exercise.  The surf peaking today and will come again next week so bust out the big boards and go gettum!

Been busy gearing up for our next Red Sea Ocean Adventure and planning 2018 trips.  Last time we visited this place we loaded up on yellow fin tuna and hope we can get lucky again.  We got some cool trips lined up for next year so hope you can make it!

Lost in Indo

Still going through our Indo surf photos taken from Anton.  Such nice backdrops.

One of my favorite spots to surf is Lances Right or Ht's.  Nice little barrels to be found.  Looking forward to going back there next year! 

Wind or Glass?

Little boost on the south shores past few days but gotta hold on to your hats.  Swell already peaked so hurry and get some before it goes.  

Unlike sheet glass barrels of Indonesia.  Sure miss these waves.

Winter is coming

1034 milibar high pressure responsible for this windy weather and should hold all week.  Winter is coming soon so get the big boards ready!

Even our pet mice is under covers…Great time to clean house, fix up the broken pipes and leaky faucets. 

Windy weather days

Went to the pier to wish my friend Chris Cargo a happy birthday.  It was a surprise party!

Went for a morning surf up north and now editing another HSDTV show with these windy weather here!  Batten down the hatches for the next 5 days.

Red Sea and Surf

Woke up early to check the conditions and saw an amazing sunrise.  Red Sea! Glowing!

Then headed for a afternoon surf session and scored a little south swell with 2 other guys out!  Surfed till dark and had a great sleep.

Chinese superman

Sam Lawn surfs 2x year and this year he got the best waves of his life!  He would go on any wave and stay out for 5 hour sessions.  Good job Sam!  You are the chinese superman!

Our Family garden looking good!  Fresh organic salad everyday!

Picked up some bait for our next fishing adventure..hopefully soon!  Been jonesing for some mercury in my blood. ha ha!

WSL wannabees

On the final day of the competition our Red Sea WSL wannabes Spencer Chang and Donn Arizumi were on point.  Wait till you see the footage taken, it was classic!

Miss this view.  Back home in time for the light winds and north shore surf with the boys. Looking forward to a great winter of waves.

Teremakasih Indonesia

Final day heading back to Hawaii and enjoying the smooth ride back to port.  We scored the best waves all summer and everyone did well.  With thousands of photos in hand we cherish the memories and new friendships made on this years Red Sea Ocean Adventures.  Teremakasih Indo 2017, until we meet again…Aloha.
