Fresh fish

I really missed eating my sashimi so headed out with Jon Kam for a day of fishing.

Found some birds and Shibi bit my 9" gaji lure.

Then corner pole went off and mahi was on. As we were bringing it in another big fish bit the lure the mahi was on and lure was screaming! About 100 yds out it came off and we will never know what it was.

New toy arrived! iPhone 7.0. Better pics and waterproof.

Back in the bay to edit another hsdtv show. Junky weather and small surf this week.

Money shot

Made it back to Hawaii just in time to grab a few south swell waves and start the clean up and download process. Getting good shots for everyone is important for me so lotta long hours put behind the scenes.

But getting one photo like this makes the whole trip worth it, especially for the diver. It was super hard to catch fish here in greece. Here Ryan Myers brings up the gold from 53 meters.

So stoked for him! A memory catch of a lifetime. 

Greek fish food

This area of Athens city is called the plaka. Lots of shops and food.

I saw these two girls getting their feet cleaned.

10 euros for 10 minutes.

Last Greek salad for me.

Had to try the mousaka. 

I found Hercules!

We made it back to Athens at 8;00 pm and wanted to find Hercules.

Had some chocolate baklava after a classic Greek dinner and went to bed at 1:00 am.

Woke up at headed out for our walking tour. This is the temple of Zeus.

Another gateway to the temple.

Feet was sore so got s pistachio gelato cone to cool off.

And backed it up with a falafel.

Went to the Acropolis museum and saw some cool stuff but still didn't see Hercules.

Made my way up the mountain of the Acropolis.

Found temple of Athena.

Then went toward the Parthenon and then in a distance I saw him!

Hercules! Or his twin Bruddah?

Cmas champions

USA team had their ohana by their side cheering them on every step of the way.

Nice buildings in the background.

My new Colombian friend, Alvaro did very well. I was so happy for him.

The final top 3 were Cyprus no.1, Greece no. 2/3.  USA placed 7th out of 25 counties.

Congrats to the winners and divers for a job well done. Despite the drama it was truly a great experience for everyone who participated in this 30th annual cmas worlds spearfishing competition. 

CMAS day 2

Day 2 of the competition was on!  Here I am with captain of the Tunisia team. 

Ryan Meyers got some nice ones!

Kevin Sakuda got a small eel.

Off to town for the weigh in and awards.

Cmas day 1

Day 1 is off to a great start! 25 counties with total 75 boats.

Team USA did awesome!

Justin lee slammed! Now we are 5th place so far. More to come.,,

USA top diver

Meet Ryan Myers, 25 year old who can dive 50 meters. He has been scouting 76 days and is one to watch.

Here we are at 150 ft looking for fish. I mean 15 ft. 

Did some filming with Kevin Sakuda and team going deep. The pressure down at 120 feet is intense for divers. A lot of divers may not spear anything.

Registration day

Today all the teams are registering and all the big guns are here. Quality gear and all the big boys are here to play,

I'm wearing my trusted puka pants and not matching suit. Ha ha! 

Full moon and ready for bed.

Deep Diving

Andrew Gueitz (left) is one of the USA team and Luke (right) is a safety diver.  Luke reminds me so much of my friend kris Tyler.

I am meeting the best divers in the world and got to interview these Greek legends stratos and manolis who are well respected. Some of these divers do 50 meter dives or 150 ft on a single breath.

Did some deep dives today with the guys focused to win. 

Team USA Photoshoot day

Relaxing day! Enjoyed my first Greek salad then got ready for our photoshoot.

I had some time to kill so decided to hike up the mountain to check out this building.

Looked like a church of some sort.

But views were amazing!

Spectacular scenery.

Took some photos of team USA.

One group shot then did some target practice.

And enjoyed the afternoon glow of Greece.
