Found a buoy floating in the line up and it looked good so I will name it the k-bouy.

Missing kayak

My friend Travis lost his kayaks and someone trying to sell it. Green one was found yesterday and returned. Blue one still missing. Keep an eye out for Japanese male in 50's with truck with racks. He's trying to sell it!

New board test

I've been waiting to test my new board Wade Tokoro shaped for me and today was the day. Nobody out, rain and wind but things changed as front passed. So easy to paddle and catch waves compared to what I've been riding. Double overhead waves and even got a lucky barrel! Super stoked!

Got to surf with Marteen Dipinto with only us out. He got some nice ones and bonus chocolates for dessert.

Sandy beach session

Seems like over 10 years since I surfed Sandy beach. Heard yesterday was firing and today still had fun lefts lining up full point to the shore break. Grabbed a few with my 5'6 to get some exercise.

My Quiver

Big XXL swell arrived so had to decide what board to ride? My boards range between 5'6" and 10'0". Debated over riding my 7'6" but really want to test my new 6'4". 

So I woke up and did my own surf check on the best side of the island.

8-10 ft and bumpy so decided to wait for better day.

Did some filming with the Hsdtv crew and interns.

Luckily we got the last bit of sun light.

Gone Fishing!

Light winds small surf means catch fish!

Weather was cloudy and passing showers with Lotsa boats out on a Saturday. I didn't want to join the circus at the buoy and went looking for birds.

We found the birds and some fish! Nice mahi Al.

Got enough for our dinner for the week for our families and friends.

But had to sample a platter of sashimi.

Empty Ice Box

North shore dawn patrol! Fun head high sets with no crowds. Great to see Wade, Rick, Marteen, Phil and Wendell out. Grabbed a few to start the day.

Kalihi Surf

Anybody saw this wave in kalihi? Something to look at since surf is small and windy today. More big waves coming next week, I can't wait!

Six baby mice were born a few weeks ago. So cute and fun to watch. Anybody want one? Lmk.

New Gaji Lures

Mahalos to Allan Sato of Gaji lures for a new set of 5" and 7" lures. Last trip out we had an Ono eat the whole lure! I can't wait to get back out there to catch fish for my family and friends!

Day of Rest

Junk winds and small waves so day of rest. Even my boards got to recover? Ha ha! 

Tuna melt for lunch anyone? My friend been making his own bottled tuna with his own fish and it's awesome! Once you try it you can't eat canned tuna again.

Special Tokoro Board

I'm blessed to have a great friend, shaper  and surf buddy Wade Tokoro.  We've been getting some fun surf sessions this winter and he told me I should ride this magic board so took his advice and ordered one. Perfect for the waves we surf a lot and easy to paddle in under the hook. It's the thickest board yet and 10 liters more volume than my other boards. Mahalos Wade, I'm looking forward to some great rides! 

President day surf

Winds picking up but north still fun. Paddled out with Wade and 3 boogie boarders. Can't believe how empty it's been. Just like a surf trip!

Lotsa traffic on east due to road repair and holiday. Drive safe!

Happy Valentines Day! Take time to spend time with your loved ones.

Been getting some great waves this winter and enjoying the ride. Today I was pleasantly surprised when I paddled out with nobody out! Scored!

Smoke Tako

Dropping swell up north with light crowd, grabbed a few then watched my dad smoke Tako that Travis gave.

Ahi Countdown

Woke up early to check surf with Wade and Cade but conditions not good. 6-8 ft and bumpy.  Only look no leap, lots more waves coming!

Countdown begins! Only 4 more months to go before Ahi Season 2016 is on!

Eddie No Go!

Eddie no go! Buoys started reading 11 pm last night and not as big as organizers anticipated. Can you imagine how many disappointed spectators there are today? Probably at least 10,000 people.

Not me! Surfed with Wade, Marteen and Jared in some perfect double overhead surf! 

Got to ride my gun today! Be safe out there!
