Noboribetsu-day 7

Our final stop noboribetsu.

Known for the bear park, these bears are so funny.  They wave at you for food.

Hells valley is a sulfur place where lots of tourist go to see.

Hakodate morning market-day 6

The popular hakodate market is a must see in Hokkaido.

Known for its variety of seafood. From crab to uni, scallops, abalone, etc.

This lady selling konbu was 102 years old. Her secret to a heathy life was no medicines and eating well.

But we were here for the crab.  This is called hairy crab.

Oma-bluefin fisherman

Oma fishing port is the spot to hangout and watch all the action. Lots of boats and fisherman in the area.

This man was fixing a net for his next trip.

Meet Yonezawa-san! This 78 year old man is famous and well respected from everyone. The reason we came was to meet him and he shared his stories with us I was honored to receive his personal photo album from him which left me speechless.

Cape Oma has lots to see and these Hawaii fisherman were posing for their dream catch.

Oma-day 4 Bluefin Sashimi

After a 2.5 hr train ride and 3.5 hr bus ride we made it Oma, the Maguro capital of the world.

Here is our Japanese style bath. Yes public bath with no shame. Hot onsen is how they bath.

Oma is the most northern part of Honshu and very few people come here because it's so far, but not for our group of travelers.

Our hotel was amazing and so hospitable.  Special sign for us.

It's all about the food!

The BEST sashimi in the world! Bluefin tuna! It doesn't get any better than this.

Hakodate-day 3

Today we headed to see the 50th anniversary of gorykaku park. Awesome view of the town.

The toshio had us eat a famous sushi spot called yata sushi.

So good!

Then got to meet our guides Toda, Takami, and Eri who will guide us to Oma.

Everyone had a great time today. Thank you toshio and Yuko-san for all your hospitality.

Hakodate-day 2

We made it to Hakodate and our guides toshio and Yuko from rainbow club met us for a fun day!

This is Hakodate port 

Dinner at goto-ken, russian food.

And up to mount Hakodate for spectacular night scene.

Then ended the eve eating crab from toshio and Yuko.  So good!  Tomorrow more seafood.
