Eyewitness Reports

Got the dawn patrol report from my friend  Keith that the waves were small, inconsistent and crowded. So decided to wait for the afternoon tide push. Some overhead waves and few barrels later and I was done. Boy I can't wait to go on surf trip soon...
My other friend Puna gave me the blow by blow action on his maiden voyage fishing trip. Congrats on ur double onos! Where my slab? Nah jk!  I am thankful  for my the boys giving me the daily surf, fish and dive eyewitness reports.

Ahi flashback!

As our Ahi season starts up, I'm excited to have the opportunity to get in on the action. This pic was a few years back when we first started fishing. We hooked up 330 pm and ended up 1000 pm cutting fish. Once you catch one you begin to change. I used to hate fishing but now love it! It's all about catching certain types of fish with different methods that seems to make it so challenging for me.  Yet the Ahi/yellowfin tuna still has to the most fun fish and tastiest fish to target.  Don't you agree?

The people's champ

The main event started promptly at 6 pm and Manny was a happy fighter.
Good food, family and friends came to cheer Manny on.
Ringside seats were awesome!
After the fight Manny said he thought he won! It's was hard to hit a target who would run away and hold onto you on the ropes. Mayweather then told Manny "no hard feelings, but we made a lot of money".  The crowd seemed to want Manny to win but it didn't work in his favor tonight. Even though Manny lost I think he is still the people's champ.

Aloha Friday

Happy aloha Friday! Another picture perfect day in Hawaii. Blue skies, sunny and southeast windswell providing some rideable waves.
Went to the doctors office to see what's new.  My computer not feeling well perhaps because it runs 24/7.
This is the latest Mac Pro tower. Super fast for editing. Look how small it is!

Kelly Slater on board design

11x world champion Kelly Slater went down today at the lowers Pro but shared some interesting insight to the future of board design.  Many surfers follow Kellys board designs and more and more surfers are going shorter.  One of the interesting things he said was that the majority of surfers who buy boards are average surfers who want to have fun. They don't care about surfing like John John Florence, Gabriel Medina, or Felipe Toledo doing full air rotations but what they want to have fun is speed.  So finding a board that will let you go fast and crack a solid turn will help you find that right board and keep the stoke alive.
