This winter has seen back to back big episodes of surf up on the north shore.  Looking at the forecast one of the biggest swells of the year possibly in the past 10 years will be coming in this Wednesday.  Yup BIG WEDNESDAY!  I wonder if the Eddie will go?  Stay tuned...

Print Surf Pau

My friend asked if my dad could do a gyotaku print of an ulua so busted out the paint and got to work. 

Southwest winds have junking out lots of spots but if you know where to look you can find some nice spots.

After I finished surfing this rooster came by to say hello. More big waves coming so get out the big guns!

Drone Cam

One day while checking the surf cams up north I see this like UFO flying above hovering over pipeline.  I put two and two together and figure its what they call a drone.  Some creative cameraman got some sick shots of the big waves on the north shore which is making waves in the media.

Goat fish wanted

After a long night of rocking seas settled and we were able to get some rest. Kekoa looked comfortable while you can see James locked in the corner of the boat unable to move.

He must have slept good as he was snoring up a storm. 

So we finally pulled anchor and headed to look for some goat fish. We had a couple hours to dive before we would head back home so we suited up.

We got lucky finding some nice fish and got enough for our families.

Kekoa spotted this huge Kumu and told me to shoot it. I told him to shoot it but he said, no you shoot it so I went down slowly not to spook it as it gave the opportunity I took it. By far one of my personal best Kumus thanks to Kekoa and James. 

We called it a day and headed home as the heavy rains came down after we finished washing up.  Coming home safely is what it is all about.  I try to watch and predict what the weather will do every day so we can have a good time. What an awesome trip we had and thanks to James, Kekoa, and my family for all their help and ono grinds.  Now time to clean fish:)

Rise and shine! Another nice day in Hawaii! Excited to see what's in the ocean today? 

Red Sea boat trip

Weather was looking good for a red sea boat trip so James, Kekoa and I packed up for some fishing and diving. 

On the way we hooked up to a nice mahi and Kekoa did a great job reeling it up. 

Now we are getting ready for a sleepover. There is some rain and thunder so hope we get some rest tonight. Good night.  Zzzzz
