First Tuna 2014

Today weather was perfect for fishing! Not flat water but not to rough were we would get soaked so we loaded up the Red Sea boat and went fishing.

We found one bird pile and got lucky with our first otaru of the year.  This fish was a really good fight. 

Called it an early day and went in early with enough fish for our family.  Thanks James, cat, gaji lures and the 2 old crows for all their help.

New Addition

Meet my new niece. Just 2 months old abandoned on the side of the road in haleiwa with her other brothers and sisters. My nephews are so happy!

Deep freeze 1.7.14

The coldest day of the year as many Americans face the lowest temperatures of the year. I cannot even fathom how cold it must be and feel so lucky to live in Hawaii.  I even got a trip inquiry from a couple from Alaska who wants to come to Hawaii to relax.

Side-bolo Monday

Today was another nice cool kind of day. It was the last day off school for my nephews so they asked if I could take them fishing. Loaded up the van and tried our luck at the pier. Kai is 9 yrs old and growing fast.

Maika is 8 yrs old and is also learning a lot.  He had some strikes today but no hook up.

Then went back to the car to cool off.

Later we tried catching crabs and Maika got one but decided to let it go because it was a special one.  We got one so side-bolo today.

Reel Service

As the new year has started our cold winter weather continues to blow out the north shore surf and keep everyone bundled up indoors, including me. So I make the most of this bad weather and service my fishing poles for the upcoming ahi season. I'm feeling excited to fish, dive and surf this year and look forward to seeing you all join us on a Red Sea Ocean Adventure!

Or year of the cow? I'm looking forward to catching some BIG tunas in 2014!
