Beachouse Party

Kekoa and Brent invited us to a beachouse on the Eastside. Gotta watch out for them flying coconuts.
Rob brought in zodiac which we put together for a dive.
8 divers fit on this little boat.
Water was dirty but Al got his first Tako.
This guy cleaned house. Good job!
Susie hooked up!
Good to see Matt and Mari Wakabayashi.
Even the kids got in on the action.

12 o'clock at macaronies

Found a few shots of one of my favorite waves. My friend Todd Nishimoto takes off pumping down the line.
Sets his rail on the bottom turn and goes straight up, 12 o'clock.
This is one of the most ripple waves in the world. Macaronies! Looking forward to going back some day.

Waves came up on the south again with head high surf and few guys out. Not complaining...

Katsuo!

Waves came down and felt like eating some fresh fish so headed out with chef Al Ah Nee for some trolling action.
Not much birds except those trying to eat our gaji lures. But we managed to hook a few akus, shibi, kawakawa for our dinner tonight. Gonna sleep good tonight. Zzzzz

It's On!

Thankfully hurricane Ana stayed south so we had a good dose of rain for past 12 hours. Tuned in to watch the ASP contest at Peniche Portugal.
Gabriel Medina went out and lost his heat coming in 2 minutes early. Shocker!
Then Kelly Slater lost! He thought he was out of the chance for world title and broke his board into 3 pieces. Double shocker! Waves are smaller but still barreling so looks like the contest is on! My prediction is for John Florence 1st and Mick Fanning 2nd.

Tropical Storm Ana

Tropical Storm Ana still south of Hawaii Islands.  Storm effects should be seen on the Big Island this afternoon and hope everyone stays safe.  Oahu expected to feel it early Sunday morning.  Its always good to plan for the worst but hope for the best and most importantly don't panic!

Barrel Riding!

THE best feeling of riding a wave is getting barreled!  Pulling in a tube and traveling with hopes of making it out at the end.  My friend sent me this clip of what it feels like to get barreled and wants to go surf again!  Only a surfer knows the feeling...

Indonesia cuisine

Pupu hour is essential on our trips! With 5 divers onboard it was a given.

Nasi goren is a typical indo breakfast.

Fish burger with homemade fries for lunch.

Seafood curry for dinner was one of our many meals.

Shipwreck on Treasure Island

We debated where to surf the night before and decided to stay in treasure island to make the call. We awoke early to check out the waves and see someone on the beach waving a towel.  We then see a boat stuck on the reef.  Kirby was first to jump in the dingy with Maki and Nico and they went to help them.  It was like a movie we were watching and unfolding before our eyes.  Luckily no one was seriously hurt but these 3 fisherman were in shock.  They ran aground 3 am onto the reef and lost everything.  Even worst, it wasn't their boat and the owner was notified and said he would come in 5 hours to pick them up.

Five hours turned into 2 days and the owner finally came by to pick up his crew.  Thinking how angry he was going to be, he hugged his crew and was thankful they were alive.  They managed to salvage the waterlogged motor and a few fish but that was it.  Each of us will remember this day as it was meant for us to be there.

Indo Perfection

Seems like it was only yesterday!  One of the favorite spots our group enjoyed surfing by themselves in Indo Perfection.

On-board Classes

In between surf and dive sessions we kept busy with on-board classes. Everyone had special talents they were able to share with our group of travelers.
Stretching class with Kimura-san.  Kimura-san is very generous man who at 62 years old made the young guns feel so good!  Party at night and always having fun made everyone happy.
Yoga class with Angela Maki Vernon.  We got to learn some good stretching and yoga poses on this trip as well.  Thank you Maki for teaching us.
Knot tying class with James Oshiro.  Kekoa got a private lesson and ready to assist.
Dream board workshop with Tiare Thomas.  She taught us how to dream big and make our dreams come true.
A great group is key to any successful trip!  We were so lucky to have the perfect mix of travelers!

Special treat was this lobster we traded for used rubbers.

Life on the Dream!

Sorry was "MIA" missing in action with no Internet for past 11 days.  Our trip was simply amazing! Sunsets like these made our weeks feel like a month.
We surfed everyday! Toda-san waxing up for his afternoon session. We scored some fun waves:)
We dove and caught lots of fish! Sashimi and poke every night.
We picked shells! All kinds of colorful shapes and sizes.
We partied! Celebrated another year with good friends.
We had great times together! That's was best of all. New and old friends just sharing the dream!
